Welcome to the 2026 (Winter) BC Junior Chess Rapid! This is a CFC Rated rapid tournament hosted by the British Columbia Junior Chess Association. The British Columbia Junior Chess is a student organization that serves as a hub for high school chess players across the Lower Mainland. Our goal is to inspire potential young chess players in BC.

Byes

You may request a maximum of two ½ point byes

No byes on Round 6 (requests for a bye on Round 6 will be ignored, or you will receive a 0 point bye)
Playing Area

No food in the playing area

Silence is required in the playing area while games are in progress

All electronics capable of making noise, communicating, or playing chess must be powered fully off while playing
Photo & Video

BCJCA may film certain games throughout the event. We always ask players involved for their permission

Photos by spectators are allowed for the first 5 minutes of each round, but please be discrete and respectful to not disturb players
